Byeon Woo-seok, who handed out the prepared gifts to each reporter, truly embodies Ryu Seon-jae

On May 30th, Byeon Woo-seok‘s round interview was held at a café located on Nonhyeon-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, following the successful completion of tvN’s “Lovely Runner“.
A round interview is an interview conducted with multiple media outlets simultaneously. Byeon Woo-seok’s interview was divided into 5 sessions over 2 days, from 10 AM to 3 PM on May 29th and 30th.

tvN’s “Lovely Runner” follows Ryu Seon-jae (Byeon Woo-seok), a famous idol who passed away under suspicious circumstances, purportedly by suicide, and Im Sol (Kim Hye-yoon), a fervent fan thrown into a serious crisis by his death. The latter is inadvertently given the chance to go back to the past to save Seon-jae and herself. The drama ended on May 28th.
In the drama, Byeon Woo-seok portrayed Ryu Seon-jae at different ages: a passionate 19-year-old student, a fresh 20-year-old university student, and a top star at 34. He captured the different faces of youth and received much love for his performance.
Before starting the official interview, Byeon Woo-seok displayed his warm charm that captivated viewers nationwide. He brought a blue umbrella, reminiscent of the legendary umbrella scene from the movie “Temptation of Wolves”, and a single yellow flower. In the drama, the blue color symbolizes Ryu Seon-jae, while the yellow symbolizes Im Sol.

Byeon Woo-seok handed out the prepared gifts to each reporter, expressing his gratitude for their attendance. When the interview began, he answered each question sincerely and thoughtfully. If his answers were brief, he would take a moment to think further and sometimes mimic lines from the drama, showing his enthusiasm.
His delicate charm continued even after the interview ended. Typically, there is a 10-minute break between sessions in round interviews. For instance, if the first interview starts at 10 AM, it ends at 10:50 AM, and the next session begins at 11 AM after a 10-minute break. However, Byeon Woo-seok took a 20-minute break between sessions, allowing for a more relaxed interview process.
Given that this was his first meeting with the press after the end of a well-loved drama, he prepared to communicate as much as possible. During this time, he thanked the journalists he spoke with and signed autographs on personalized cards he had prepared.
When told that he has a good reputation among film and drama industry professionals, he humbly replied, “I will work even harder in the future.“
Meanwhile, Byeon Woo-seok will embark on his solo fanmeeting tour “2024 ByeonWooSeok Asia Fanmeeting Tour SUMMER LETTER”, starting in Taipei, Taiwan next month.
